Jennifer Christie trained at the Rochester School of Dance in Rochester, Michigan. Under the direction of Cornelia Sampson and a member of the Michigan Ballet Theatre, Jennifer earned opportunities to dance parts in “The Nutcracker”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, and “Coppelia”, as well as being cast in guest roles with the Kirov Ballet in “La Bayadere” and with the contemporary dance company founded by Ron DeJesus. She attended summer intensives at the School of American Ballet, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet, where she was invited at sixteen to join their professional division on scholarship. She moved across the country, finishing her high school education online, all while performing in many company productions including “The Nutcracker”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Cinderella”, and “West Side Story”. In 2011, she joined Oregon Ballet Theatre, first - as an apprentice under the direction of Christopher Stowell, followed by a promotion into the company. She most recently danced principal roles with Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota before accepting a position with Utah Regional Ballet. Jennifer is enjoying her first season under the direction of Jacqueline Colledge, while taking classes at Utah Valley University.
