Lucas Castro began his training at age twelve at Centro de Dança Rio in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro. He studied with Mariza Estrella, Angelica Fiorani, and Andrea Sales. He danced for City Dance conservatory for the 2018/19 season and later joined The Washington Ballet as a Trainee under the direction of Julie Kent. He worked professionally for Cia Jovem de Ballet in Rio de Janeiro under the direction of Dalal Achcar. He danced many roles by Èric Frèdèric, Anna Elizabeth Alexandre, Janice Botelho as well as original works by Dalal Achcar. He was awarded first place at the Brazilian Dance Council Competition, the Dance in Cena Competition, and Award Carioca of dance, and many other competitions. While at The Washington Ballet, he performed in Nutcracker, Balanchine + Ashton as well the principal role in Santanella restaged by Rinat Imaev and Yellow Choice by Mimmo Miccolis. At City Dance Conservatory, he performed principal roles in Le Corsaire,
Swan Lake and contemporary roles by Rob Priori, Lorraine Spiegler, and Carolina Rocher. Lucas has worked with Stanislav Issaev, Rinat Imaev, Xiomara Reyes, and Julie Kent. He performed as a Guest Principal in the L'vant Scene Danse production of Don Quixote at the Municipal Theater of Niteroi. He attended summer intensives at Miami City Ballet (South American program), City Dance Conservatory, The Washington Ballet and ABT on scholarship. Lucas holds a degree in Engineering from Republic State School and is pursuing a B.A in Dance Education from the Federal University of Rio, Brazil.
